Chris Löwe returns in only change to XI

- David Wagner makes one change to starting XI
- Chris Löwe replaces Tareiq Holmes-Dennis
- Sean Scannell returns to the bench

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has made one change to the starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game against Preston North End; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

After missing last weekend’s game at Nottingham Forest due to fatigue, Chris Löwe (pictured) returns to start at left back in place of Tareiq Holmes-Dennis. THD drops out of the match day squad altogether today.

There’s also a welcome return to the substitutes’ bench for Sean Scannell this afternoon. ‘Scanz’ has been absent from the match day squad since 28 November, when his ankle ligaments were damaged in a foul challenge by Wigan Athletic’s Stephen Warnock. He takes Joe Lolley’s place among the subs; Joe has a slight ankle issue that rules him out today.

Tommy Smith captains the side again today on his 25th birthday, which also happens to be his 150th appearance for the Club in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Nahki Wells makes his 200th start in competitive English football today. He has netted four goals in just three appearances for the Terriers against Preston North End – and his next goal will be his 50th for the Club.

Alongside Lolley, Wagner is without the services of Jon Gorenc Stanković (knee), Izzy Brown (knee) and Kasey Palmer (hamstring) today.
