-    Hoyle named Championship CEO of the Year
-    Dean Hoyle was also nominated for CEO of the Year award

Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle won the FC Business Football Championship CEO of the Year award at the Football Business Awards.

Hoyle won the Championship award thanks to votes from FC Business magazine readers, which saw him on the shortlist for overall CEO of the year which was hosted by BBC 5 Live presenter Colin Murray at the Emirates Stadium.

For the Football CEO of the year award he was nominated alongside Chief Executive’s from Liverpool, Hearts, Fleetwood Town and Portsmouth, with the award eventually being received by Portsmouth’s Chief Executive, Mark Catlin.

Now in his seventh year as Chairman of Huddersfield Town, Hoyle has overseen the Terriers’ promotion to the Championship and the Club currently sit in the Championship’s play-off positions.

Hoyle, a life-long Huddersfield Town supporter, joined the Club in 2008 on the Board of Directors before becoming Chairman in June 2009.

This season Hoyle invested £2 million of the TV revenue given to the Club to cut season ticket prices down to £179 for just over 15,000 supporters and has looked at ways the Club can develop as well as benefit the wider community.

The Football Business Awards celebrated their fifth year and included an illustrious judging panel including business owners and football chairmen, as they look to reward the hard work off the pitch by football clubs.
