TRANSFER: JOE WRIGHT JOINS DONCASTER ROVERS

1 June 2016

Out of contract defender moves to South Yorkshire

- Joe Wright departs Huddersfield Town
- Centre back joining Sky Bet League 2 side Doncaster Rovers
- HTAFC will receive compensation for the 21 year-old

Huddersfield Town’s out of contract defender Joe Wright has today joined Sky Bet League 2 club Doncaster Rovers.

The 21 year-old centre back’s contract expires on 30 June 2016, at which point Joe will join Darren Ferguson’s side.

As Town offered Academy graduate Joe a new contract, the Club is due a compensation fee from Doncaster Rovers; this has been agreed between the two clubs outside tribunal.

Joe departs the Club never having played for Town’s First Team, although he was an unused substitute on four occasions during the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

The defender, who has two caps for Wales’ Under-21 side, made 22 starts and one substitute appearance for Sky Bet League 2 side Accrington Stanley during a season-long Standard Loan in the 2015/16 campaign.

Everyone at the Club would like wish Joe the best of luck.
