- Comments from Head Coach David Wagner

Huddersfield Town has today extended the Emergency Loan of James Husband from fellow Sky Bet Championship club Middlesbrough until Saturday 9 April 2016 inclusive.

The 22 year-old left back has made two starts and one substitute appearance for Huddersfield Town since arriving in January, having made his debut in Town’s 2-2 Emirates FA Cup Third Round draw with Reading.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner commented:

“What we have seen from James so far has been good and we need a second left back, as Jason Davidson is the only specialist in our squad.

“James has settled well and fits well into the group. His attributes fit our style and we are happy that he will remain with us.”

Born in Leeds, Husband started his professional career at Doncaster Rovers in his teenage years.

He turned professional at Doncaster in November 2011 and made his First Team debut five months later, coming on as a second half substitute in a Sky Bet Championship game at Middlesbrough.

James was a regular in the Doncaster side that gained promotion back to the second tier in the 2012/13 season, making a total of 63 starts and 10 substitute appearances for the Club; scoring four times on the way to the Play-Off Final win.

The defender joined Middlesbrough in July 2014 in a deal that saw the Club pay an undisclosed fee signing a four year contract, with Boro striker Curtis Main going in the opposite direction at the same time.

James has made six starts and one substitute appearances for Boro to date and has also played in the Sky Bet Championship through two separate loan spells at Fulham; he started 12 games for the Cottagers between March and December 2015.

In total, Husband has made a total of 88 starts and 12 substitute appearances in his career, scoring four times.

Middlesbrough has the ability to recall James at any time.
