Third Round draw ties Town with League 1 side Port Vale

Huddersfield Town has been drawn at home to Port Vale in the Third Round of this season’s FA Cup.

The draw, which took place at the BT Tower in London on Monday evening, handed the Terriers a tie against League 1 side Port Vale.

The game will take place between Friday 6 and Monday 9 January at the John Smith’s Stadium, with admission info and the exact date to be confirmed on htafc.com at a later date.

Managed by Bruno Ribeiro, Port Vale currently sits 12th in the League 1 table just two points off the Play-Offs with 27 points from 20 games. They beat League 2 side Hartlepool United 4-0 to progress into the Third Round of the competition.

The two clubs have previously met in the FA Cup on four occasions, with Town winning twice. The last meeting came in the 2008/09 campaign; Town beat Port Vale 1-0 away from home in the Second Round of the competition thanks to a goal from Nathan Clarke.
