13 November 2015

U21 & U19 games for Wales and Ireland respectively

- Jake Charles capped again by Wales U21s
- Danny Kane starts for Ireland U19s
- Joe Wright an unused sub

Two of Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad players earned further international honours on Friday.

Jake Charles earned his third Wales Under-21 cap, playing the last 20 minutes as the Welsh grabbed a 90th minute winner to beat Armenia 2-1 in Bangor in a UEFA Under-21 qualifier.

Geraint Williams’ Wales U21 team remains undefeated in qualifying group 5, with three wins and one draw. The nation is now top of the group and the top side from the six team group will qualify for the final tournament in Poland in 2017, whilst the runner-up could go into a Play-Off.

Town teammate Joe Wright, who is on loan at Accrington, was an unused sub. Charles and Wright could earn further caps when the Welsh host Romania on Tuesday at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham.

Meanwhile, defender Danny Kane got his fourth Republic of Ireland U19 cap today, but was unfortunately injured after 27 minutes and the Irish went on to lose 1-0 at home to Slovenia in the opening European Championship qualifying opener.

Ireland’s next Group A match is at home to Latvia on Sunday night.
