Development Squad in afternoon action
Town’s Under-21 Development Squad is back in action on Monday with a trip to Barnsley.
The game, which kicks-off at 1pm, will take place at the Oakwell training ground (S71 1ET).
Barnsley's Under-21s are managed by Senior Professional Development Coach Paul Heckingbottom and sit eighth in the Professional Development League 2 North with 13 points from 17 games.
Town’s Development Squad sits fourth in the same division, having accumulated 25 points from 15 games this season. That puts Frankie Bunn’s side three points behind the three sides above them in the table; top side Nottingham Forest having played a game less, but Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United having played two games more. At the end of the season, the top two sides will progress to the end of year Play-Offs against the top two southern sides.
Bunn’s team has been a young one of late, thanks in part to the departures of Matt Crooks and Jordan Sinnott, as well as Daniel Carr’s loan move to Dagenham & Redbridge. That has handed opportunities for many of the Academy scholars to make their first forays into Under-21 football.
