JAKE CARROLL JOINS BURY

19 February 2014

Defender loaned to League 2 side

Huddersfield Town left back Jake Carroll has joined League 2 Bury on an Emergency Loan.

The 22 year-old will train with his new loan club on Thursday and will stay in Greater Manchester until Saturday 22 March inclusive, although Town have a recall clause after the first 28 days.

Carroll joined Town in the summer from Irish side St Patrick’s Athletic and after impressing in Town’s Capital One Cup victory over Bradford, made four starts in the Championship.

In total he has made seven appearances for the Terriers, with his latest coming in September against Hull City in the Capital One Cup.

Bury are currently on a four match unbeaten run and Jake will be available for their match at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. His loan will encompass a further seven games and will include clashes at home against promotion chasers Rochdale and Fleetwood Town.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins said:

“I am looking forward to observing how Jake does back in First Team action. He impressed during his short spell in our First Team at the start of the season, but his development has been affected lately through an ankle injury. He’s not fighting fit and needs games."
