KIRKHEATON PRIMARY SCHOOL VISITS HUDDERSFIELD TOWN SUCCESS CENTRE

15 December 2014

Pupils from school partner visit Stadium

A group of year six students from Town’s school partner Kirkheaton Primary are attending Huddersfield Town’s Success Centre for booster Mathematics and English sessions in preparation for their SATs exams next year.

The Success Centre supports children and adults of all ages to achieve success and develop confidence and self-esteem.

In order to develop literacy skills, the Club’s Ambassador Andy Booth gave the pupils a tour of the John Smith’s Stadium to fire the imaginations of the young people to write a persuasive piece on the Club as an ICT PowerPoint presentation.

The pupils picked up many interesting facts from Andy and described the tour as “awesome!”

Mrs Broadhead, the Teaching Assistant from the school, commented:

“Most of the young people would not normally have such exciting opportunities and this will really boost their learning.”

Jeanette Palmer, the Huddersfield Town Success Centre tutor, added:

“I’d like to thank Andy for an interesting and informative tour; this would really develop persuasive writing techniques for the pupils.”

Visits to the Success Centre with Town legend ‘Boothy’ is just one of the benefits of becoming a school partner of Huddersfield Town.
