CLAYTON WINS BWF PLAYER OF THE YEAR

25 April 2014

Midfielder scoops award voted by the fans

Huddersfield Town midfielder Adam Clayton has been voted by Blue and White Foundation members as their Player of the Season for the 2013/14 season.

The influential midfielder, who scored the winner at Yeovil on Easter Monday, won the majority of the vote with defenders Paul Dixon and Anthony Gerrard coming as runners up.

The former Manchester City youngster has scored a number of key goals throughout the season and has inspired the Terriers on numerous occasions throughout.

He has netted a career best seven goals so far this season, which has included some fantastic strikes against the likes of Bournemouth, Wigan and Birmingham.

Having made 44 appearances to date, the 25 year-old has been a virtual ever present and has become a real fans’ favourite.

John Howell from Dewsbury was the lucky person to be drawn out of all the entrants and has been invited to the Leicester City game along with three guests of his choice. John will receive VIP treatment and get to meet Adam and present him with his bottle of champagne.

Thanks to all the members who voted for their Player of the Season.

Benefits of joining the Blue and White Foundation include entry into the weekly 'On the Move' lottery - which sees one lucky fan scoop the £1,000 jackpot every seven days - as well as the bumper end of year Blue and White jackpot. Members can also register their children and grandchildren into the Foundation free of charge. Also, BWF members receive free membership to PPG Canalside.
