Huddersfield Community Trust’s Education Academy is offering 16 education posts during September 2013.

Established in 2009, the Education Academy provides excellent levels of high quality teaching and training within the sports, fitness and coaching sector, offering a range of sports related qualifications from level one through to level three and also apprenticeships.  

All programmes are delivered on-site at the Zone by a team of highly qualified tutors and coaches in a unique environment which inspires and promotes the success of young people.

Currently working in partnership with local providers, colleges and industry professionals, our courses have been developed with an emphasis on employability and will develop the academic and vocational skills needed to progress into the workplace.                  

Courses for September 2013

Level 1 – BTEC Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure (one year); 16 to 18 year-olds
Level 1 – City & Guilds Award in Sport and Active Leisure (one year); 19 to 24 year-olds

Level 2 – BTEC Diploma in Sport (one year); 16 to 18 year-olds
Level 2 – City & Guilds Diploma in Sport (one year); 19 to 24 year-olds

Level 3 – BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport - Performance & Excellence – FUTSAL (two years) 16 to 19 year olds

Facilities

There are six classrooms with The Zone which all have access to the internet and are fully equipped with laptops. SMART boards are used within two classrooms and additional laptops are available for students to use for independent study. Practical sessions take place on the indoor 3G pitches.
