ORCHARD GROUP RAISES £1,500 FOR KIU!

8 March 2013

Club Partner contributes to YAA and Academy

17 employees of Huddersfield Town’s Club Partner The Orchard Group completed ‘Walk for Pounds 2’ during November 2012 – and have together raised a magnificent £1,500 for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign!

Orchard also sponsored the 19 mile walk from Huddersfield to Barnsley FC for Town’s game there on 10 November, with funds raised being split between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Huddersfield Town Academy.

Gareth Henderson, Managing Director of the Orchard Group, was joined by his colleagues Justin Holley, Kate Lord, Barbara Wallace, Coleen McKay, Sophie Broadley, Kim Howard, Heather Wrathall, Lisa Kingswell, Jessica Walsh, Rory Ingham, Ian Dickinson, Gavin Smith, Hannah Whipp, Paul Hoddy, Neil Ewing and Thomas Midgley to complete the walk.

Their combined fundraising total of £1,500 made up part of the fantastic £16,000 the walk generated overall – click HERE for full information!

Their support of the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign hasn’t stopped there – this season the company is sponsoring the back of the shirts given to the 290 confirmed ‘Pedal for Pounds 4’ cyclists, who will pedal around Yorkshire in early May. They will also provide shirts for the support team on top of a special ‘completion’ t-shirt for all the cyclists that finish the route, which will hopefully include Henderson and Ewing, who are members of the blue team!

Gareth Henderson of the Orchard Group commented:

“Orchard Group was delighted to sponsor the ‘Walk for Pounds’ to support the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Huddersfield Town Academy.

“We did the walk with a good number of colleagues from the business on a bright breezy day in November and had a fantastic time! We, along with the other walkers had a single aim to raise money for these great causes and we are committed to further support these events and charities.”

Huddersfield Town’s Supporter Partnerships Manager Robyn Deegan added:

“The Club would like to thank the Orchard Group for their commitment to the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign.

“We have been lucky enough to garner a lot of support from supporters and business alike since its inception in 2009, but the commitment that so many of the Orchard employees have given to the cause is almost unparalleled.

“They are a key part of the massive upcoming ‘Pedal for Pounds 4’ bike ride through their sponsorship and two participating employees and we’re all looking forward to working with them again.”
