TOWN’S TEAM vs. CRYSTAL PALACE

30 January 2013

Danns comes in to face former club

Huddersfield Town’s on-loan midfielder Neil Danns has returned to the starting line-up for tonight’s npower Championship game against his former Club Crystal Palace; 7.45pm kick-off.

Danns, who made 114 appearances for the Eagles between 2008 and 2011, replaces youngster Jordan Sinnott in the second starting line-up selected by Caretaker Manager Mark Lillis.

Impressive weekend debutant Sinnott drops to the bench where he sits alongside Jermaine Beckford, who also returns to the match day squad after being ineligible to face Leicester City on Saturday. Youngsters Matt Crooks and Duane Holmes make way.

Danns’ inclusion is the only change to the team from Saturday’s 1-1 FA Cup draw, so Town are expected to line up in a 4-4-2 Diamond formation again this evening with goalkeeper Alex Smithies behind a back four of Calum Woods, Anthony Gerrard, Captain Peter Clarke and Jack Hunt.

Northern Ireland international Oliver Norwood will sit at the base of the midfield diamond with the returning Neil Danns and Scott Arfield ahead of him, leaving Adam Clayton to play just off former Palace loanee James Vaughan and top scorer Lee Novak in attack.
