Hebden Bridge wins fourth annual event
This year’s Brass Factor event, in aid of the Huddersfield Town Foundation, saw debutants Hebden Bridge crowned as the winners.
Six brass bands – Hade Edge Band, Delph Band, Emley Band, Hade Edge Youth Band, Lindley Band and Hebden Bridge Band – faced off on in a talent show at the Holmfirth Picturedrome on Saturday 23 November.
Hebden Bridge stole the show with a breathtaking performance to close the event and were voted the winners jointly by the judging panel and attendees.
The panel consisted of head judge Kevin Wadsworth, one of brass branding’s most well-known musicians, David Hoyle of BBC Radio Leeds, Stephen Lord and Matthew Corbett of Sooty and Sweep fame!
The event, which saw each band play a 20 minute set, raised £300 for the Foundation.
Event Organiser Alex Bray, said:
'Thank you to everyone who attended and made Brass Factor an evening to remember. Everything seemed to fall into place so perfectly, especially having the lovely Mandy Taylor present to speak so passionately about the Huddersfield Town Foundation. I am delighted to have raised plenty of money for the foundation and helped to provide breakfasts for children throughout Kirklees'.
Hade Edge were runners up in the competition, while Hade Edge Youth finished third.
