MONKEY CLUB RAISES £1,000 FOR KIU

7 April 2013

Fundraising event benefits Academy & YAA

The Monkey Club of Armitage Bridge held a Sportsman’s evening with some familiar Town faces and handed over a cheque for £1,000 for the Keep It Up campaign!

Mark Lillis, Town’s Academy Manager collected the cheque on behalf of the campaign which raises funds for the Academy and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity.

He was joined by ex-Town players Keith Hanvey, who was the event’s MC, Frank Worthington and Kieran O’Regan, who did a Q&A session.

The £1,000 was raised at 2012’s Monkeyfest beer festival, the sixth annual event, which saw a special beer brewed in honour of HTAFC.

Stephen Hirst of the Monkey Club commented, “This year we are hoping to raise even more funds at our next Monkeyfest beer festival to be held in Armitage Bride on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July 2013.”

Mark Lillis added: “It was an honour to go and pick up the cheque for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign, and on behalf of the Academy and YAA I would like to thank Stephen and everyone at the Monkey Club for supporting the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign for another year.”
