Three weeks to go until big night at Canalside

With three weeks to go until the annual Blue & White Foundation £20k draw, previous winners Paul Hobson and Simon Hewlett have told that the big cheque has changed their lives.

Mr. Hobson and proud father of five-week-old Isla, Simon, drew the numbers for the Golden Gamble draw at the Wolves game on Saturday.

The two Season Card holders described how the big sum has helped them and their families. Simon explained the money has been put to good use while him and his wife prepare the house for little Isla.

“That extra money meant we could take a little bit more time and spend a bit more doing the house up. We’ve got our first born now so I think most of the money will be spent on her.”

Paul Hobson has also treated his kids to a fantastic festive period.

He said: “I spent the money on my house and paid off some debts. I got a new car, a nice Ford Galaxy and treated the kids to a good Christmas.”

They both recall how shocked they were when they heard the news that they had won the life-changing prize.

“I was very shocked. Initially I thought it was a bit of a wind up,” said Mr. Hewlett holding newborn Isla who shown her support in her signed Town strip.

For Mr. Hobson, the whole episode of receiving the money was a bit of a rush as he was informed he had won whilst baby-sitting his kids at home!

“I rung the wife up first while she was at work and she couldn’t believe it! She came home early from work and I went down to the draw and entered the room to a round of applause.”

Paul and Simon recall great memories supporting the Terriers as long term Season Card holders. Paul remembers the infamous 101 goals in the 1979/80 campaign whilst Simon will never forget the events at Wembley last year.

“I’ve been a Season Card holder at Town for about 20 years now. No memory will quite surpass the Play-Off Final last season and the drama of that penalty shootout. I don’t think anything will come close to that game.”

On 15 November 2012, one lucky Blue & White Foundation member like Paul and Simon will walk away from Canalside Sports Complex with the bumper first prize whilst 10 others will get runners up prizes of £500.

The event has moved from the Stadium this year and will now be held in Canalside’s brand new function room, which will be completed in October!

Attendees on the evening will also enjoy food and entertainment, with several First Team players taking part in an exclusive question and answer session ahead of the big draw.
