LOAN WATCH: WEEKEND REVIEW

29 October 2012

A review of Town’s quartet of loan stars

Huddersfield Town currently has four first team players out on loan at clubs within the Football League.

Midfielder – Chris Atkinson – Chesterfield

Academy graduate Chris Atkinson has made 11 appearances for the Spireites since his loan move and has hit three goals from midfield.

Over the past week the midfielder has played 90 minutes in two home defeats against Fleetwood and Barnet. On Saturday, against Barnet, Chris came up against former Dutch international Edgar Davids.

Striker – Jimmy Spencer (pictured) – Brentford

Young striker Jimmy Spencer moved to Brentford earlier this month and has so far made two substitute appearances.

The striker played 14 minutes during the victory against Coventry and 8 minutes during the 2-2 with Hartlepool on Saturday. The striker will next be in action on Tuesday 6 November against Portsmouth.

Defender – Liam Ridehalgh – Chesterfield

Liam is now a regular in the starting eleven at Chesterfield and has made 15 appearances since his loan move.

Like Chris, the left-back also played 90 minutes in the Spireites' last two games.

Striker – Kallum Higginbotham – Carlisle

Attacking midfielder/striker Kallum Higginbotham has struggled to hold down a regular starting place in the Carlisle starting line-up. So far, he has made four starts in the League and two substitute appearances.

On Saturday, against Bournemouth, Kallum was left out of the team that lost 4-2 to Eddie Howe’s chargers.
