CHARLES EARNS FIFTH WALES U17 CAP

14 November 2012

Welsh defeated in Estonia

Huddersfield Town Academy scholar Jake Charles earned his fifth cap for the Welsh Under-17 side this evening as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Estonia.

This 2012/13 U17 UEFA Championship qualifier was originally scheduled for 26 October, but was abandoned in Tallinn after 26 minutes due to snow with Wales 1-0 up.

Jake was initially named as a substitute for the game, but stepped into the line-up tonight due to an injury to a Welsh colleague – eventually being replaced in the 78th minute. Unfortunately the hosts came back and qualified for the next stage with three goals without reply, condemning Wales to a third consecutive defeat.
