Ambassador attends School Partner’s ceremony

Huddersfield Town Club Ambassador Andy Booth recently attended School Partner Thornhill Community Academy’s awards ceremony held at Dewsbury Town Hall.

Boothy was the guest speaker at the event and before presenting the winners with their awards he entertained them with stories and anecdotes from his playing career.

The prestigious event was held by the Academy so that former students, who sat their GCSE’s in the summer, could be presented with their examination certificates and other awards.

Following the awarding of examination certificates the Academy presented students with awards to those who had attained the highest achievement in each subject area. Awards were also presented to those who had given the greatest effort in each subject.

In thanking Boothy for being guest speaker, Head Boy, Jack Whitlam and Head Girl, Aamarah Aslam presented him with a gift as a token of gratitude.

Boothy told “It was a pleasure to attend Thornhill’s awards ceremony and an honour to present so many hard working students with their accolades.

“I would like to thank Thornhill and its students for the gifts they presented me with and also for their hospitality on the evening.”

The school is one of a large number of schools signed up to the Club's School Partnership scheme; if you would like to get involved or for more information call Town's Rachel Taylor (details below).

The aim of Town's school partnership is to formalise the offerings Huddersfield Town currently make to schools in one service through the Club, FITC and support sessions. It will also provide schools with assistance during the recession through 'cashback' schemes, student rewards, player visits and school kits provided by Huddersfield Town.
