A look ahead to Friday’s pre-season friendly

Town’s Development squad is heading to Stainton Park for a friendly with Radcliffe Borough on Friday evening; kick-off 7pm.

Town’s previous Development squad match saw them lose 2-0 at Liverpool during midweek and previous to that they lost 3-1 at AFC Emley.

The opposition

The Boro is managed by Benny Philips and are currently in the Northern Premier League, 1st Division North. Last season they finished 15 in the League, improving on their 18th place finish the season prior.


Admission to the game is free for anyone to enter as Radcliffe are holding an open day for local fans.


Stainton Park can be found from the M62 junction 17. Follow signs for Whitefield and Bury. Take A665 to Radcliffe via by-pass to Bolton Road. Sign posted to turn right into Unsworth Street opposite Turf Hotel, Stainton Park is on the left approximately half a mile turning into Colshaw Close East.
