A look ahead to Town’s final game of pre-season

The countdown is almost over ahead of Barcelona B’s visit to Huddersfield on Wednesday night as Town look to end their pre-season campaign in style!

Barcelona B’s visit to Huddersfield is Town’s first home pre-season match for two years and manager Simon Grayson is looking forward to watching his side pit their wits against the stars of tomorrow.

“It is a fantastic fixture for the Club and everyone connected with us and it will be very exciting for the players,” Simon told

“You don’t get too many opportunities to see Barcelona live at whatever level and some of the players playing tomorrow night, although you may not have heard of them, will go on to be big stars for the first team.

“It will be great for the football club; hopefully we will get a big crowd in to see our new players and also the next generation of Barcelona stars.  We will field a strong team on Wednesday night, but everyone will get a run out because at the end of the day it is another friendly and we have to make sure that the players are getting the right amount of match time ahead of the start of the season.”

New signing Keith Southern is likely to get more match time as he builds towards the start of the season and admitted that Barcelona B are perfect opponents for a good work-out.

“I think we will be running and chasing all night against those boys!” laughed Keith.

“It is an attractive fixture and our only home fixture of pre-season, so hopefully it will attract a big crowd. It is a good game to set us up for the start of the season next week.”

This game is pay at the turnstiles in all areas priced at £10 adults and £5 concessions. The Britannia Rescue Stand, Direct Golf UK Stand Lower Tier and Upper Tier North end will be open for this game.
