CHAPMAN IN FOCUS AT PPG CANALSIDE

31 March 2014

Open evening on Monday 31 March

Huddersfield Town’s legendary Manager Herbert Chapman will be the focus of a special open evening at PPG Canalside on Monday 31 March.

The evening, which will begin at 7.30pm in the Radcliffe Suite, will be led by eminent football journalist and biographer Patrick Barclay, who has been the main football correspondent for the Times, Guardian/Observer, Telegraph and the Independent during his impressive career.

Barclay has recently written on Herbert titled ‘The Life And Times Of Herbert Chapman’, which documents the story of one of football’s most influential figures of all time – including his success at Huddersfield Town.

Attendees will have the chance to discuss Herbert and his fantastic achievements at the Club; he led Town to the first two of the famous ‘Thrice Championships’ during the 1920s before moving to Arsenal and repeating the feat there. Herbert’s nephew, Ken, is also expected to attend the evening.

Fans will also be able to discuss the wider world of football with Patrick on the evening.

The event is free to enter on the evening and, as usual, attendees will be able to purchase drinks from the bar at PPG Canalside.
