Lewis O’Brien has won the Huddersfield Town Academy Player of the Year award for the last two seasons at the Club’s Annual Awards evenings.
Lewis, who was born in Colchester and joined the Terriers at Under-11 level, put pen to paper on his first professional deal that runs until 30 June 2018, with the Club having the option on a further season.
The 18 year-old is a left-footed attacking midfielder who usually plays from the right side, although he has also played as one of the central midfield two this campaign.
He’s started 27 games for Frankie Bunn’s Under-23s side during the 2016/17 season and a late flurry of goals towards the end of the campaign saw the midfielder top the goal scoring charts alongside Jack Boyle.
After impressing for the U18s as a youngster, Lewis first broke into Town’s Development Squad in the 2015/16 season and helped the team to win the Professional Development League 2 title.
