Luke Coddington joined Huddersfield Town as a free agent on 1 July 2016, putting pen to paper on a one year contract with an option of a further year’s extension at the Club’s behest.
The young custodian made the move at the expiry of his previous contract at hometown club Middlesbrough, where he has played since the age of nine.
Luke, who is capped by England up to Under-19 level, had previously gained First Team experience through loan spells at Guisborough Town in February 2014 and Spennymoor Town in February 2015.
Luke is the grandson of Town legend John Coddington; he captained the Terriers for 12 years during the fifties and sixties, racking up 356 appearances in defence.
Since joining Town, he excelled during a one month loan spell at Vanarama National League side Wrexham in late 2016 and subsequently made his first appearance in Town’s First Team match day squad as a substitute for the Boxing Day victory at home to Nottingham Forest.
