Hosting another successful event, the Club's award-winning Women's+ Network welcomed three special guests from Simpson Wood to discuss all things related to savings and pensions - as well as the importance of educating the younger generation.

Providing a welcoming space for open discussion and an overall informative evening, the session highlighted simple ways in which everyone can maximise their finances, including through consolidating pensions, making additional contributions to pensions, and keeping a log of expenditure.

Established in 1880, Simpson Wood have been delivering a range of tax advisory and financial planning services to businesses and individuals for many years, and have worked closely with the Club over the past three seasons. As a company, they are committed to providing high-quality specialist support, advice, and information to help people achieve financial freedom.

In the current climate and cost of living crisis, the Club felt it was vital to offer an educational session to members of our Women's+ Network and we are grateful for the support from Simpson Wood that allowed us to do this.

After another successful meeting, one attendee commented:

“This was a great session and it’s good to see the Club offering a variety of educational opportunities to members of the network.

"Financial education is often lacking in schools, and it is not always something that people feel comfortable talking about, so it was great to have the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive environment.”

Huddersfield Town’s Head of HR and EDI, Zoe Shackleton, added:

“We are grateful to the Simpson Wood team for providing our Women’s+ Network members the opportunity to better understand the financial landscape that can often be a minefield.

"Everyone who attended gained valuable knowledge to help them better manage their personal finances. It was also brilliant to welcome new members and to see people forming new relationships; encouraging new friendships and connections aside from match days is fundamentally important to the network.”
