With Mental Health Awareness Week commencing on Monday 13 May, we want to encourage supporters to feel more comfortable and confident in speaking about their Mental Health.

The theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 is movement – read more about that HERE – with a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise and fresh air all possible contributing factors in improving ones mental state and maintaining a positive outlook.

It is important that we continue to speak about our mental health, as there is as a chance either you or somebody you know will struggle with mental health related problems at some point during your life.

The aims of Mental Health Awareness Week is to increase people's awareness and understanding of the benefits of movement by providing information on the things that can help prevent it from becoming a problem as well as overcoming the stigma that surrounds the phrase ‘Mental Health’.

The most important thing we can do is promote speaking up and speaking out, as that will be our most powerful tool to reduce the often-horrific statistics relating to mental health and raise more awareness – remember that it’s okay to talk, and it’s always helpful to make yourself available to listen.
