Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Jacob Chapman extends contract with the Club

- Comments from Sporting Director Mark Cartwright

We are delighted to confirm that Jacob Chapman has agreed to a two-year extension to his Huddersfield Town contract, keeping him with the Club until at least 2026!

Having joined the Club from his local side Marconi Stallions in Sydney five years ago, Chapman has improved hugely in that time, with loan spells at Ossett United, Gateshead, Salford City and Rochdale all aiding his development.

The now 23-year-old has made an impact at First Team level this season, too. Stepping up in the absence of both Lee Nicholls and Chris Maxwell due to injury, Chapman made two senior appearances, which included a memorable penalty save against Middlesbrough at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Huddersfield Town Sporting Director Mark Cartwright commented:

“Jacob has shown an improvement in his game year-on-year since arriving with us, and there is no sign that he’s intending to stop that theme. A dedicated trainer, trusted presence within the First Team environment and possessing the character to step up when we needed him most this season, we had no hesitation in offering this extension.

“To make it as a goalkeeper at this level, especially when others may raise question marks over your height, you have to be able to display a commitment, bravery and innate ability to give the players around you confidence, and Jacob does. With the potential to get even better if he continues in the way he is, we look forward to seeing what he’s going to achieve in the next two years."
