HUDDERSFIELD TOWN RETAIN ‘MINDFUL EMPLOYER’ STATUS UNTIL 2026!

Town reaccredited as part of the 'Charter for Employers Positive about Mental Health'

- Huddersfield Town retains ‘Mindful Employer’ status
- Town sign ‘Charter for Employers Positive about Mental Health’
- Comments from Town’s HR Manager Zoe Shackleton

Huddersfield Town are delighted to announce that we have been successfully reaccredited as part of the 'Charter for Employers Positive about Mental Health' until March 2026!

Making a commitment to supporting staff with their mental health and wellbeing, alongside creating a supportive and open culture in the workplace, Town are pleased to be once again recognised on the 'Charter for Employers Positive about Mental Health'.

Signing the Charter highlights and underpins our Club values - including our Terriers Together initiative - and ensures that we can continue providing a high-quality, safe, and supportive working environment to our employees.

As a Mindful Employer since 2020, Town consistently work hard to provide a non-judgemental and supportive environment for all staff.

Being a Mindful Employer reinforces the Club’s ongoing commitment to being positive towards all employees and job applicants with a mental health condition, to supporting line managers with managing mental health in the workplace, and ensuring that we are fair and equitable in the recruitment of new staff in accordance with the Equality Act (2010) and other employment legislation.

Huddersfield Town’s HR Manager and Equality Lead, Zoe Shackleton, commented:

“The successful reaccreditation for Mindful Employer status is timely as we are entering Mental Health Awareness Week 2024.

"As a society we have made great progress in talking about mental health and wellbeing but there is still more to be done, and the Mindful Employer framework helps us to reflect and improve on the training and support we offer to staff.

"Building on our commitment to the Mindful Employer Charter, it’s fantastic that we have been able to implement an Employee Assistance Programme, which enables our staff to access confidential advice and support at any time.

"Also, while we actively support and participate in Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s important to highlight that the work we do to support our colleagues is ongoing throughout each year.”
