Huddersfield Town establish leadership team ahead of 2024/25 season

- Huddersfield Town establish leadership team
- New Chiefs of Operations, Finance and Revenue

Having restructured the Club’s board since the arrival of Chairman Kevin Nagle and CEO Jake Edwards in the summer of 2023, the Club is excited to have its full leadership team in place ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Following the appointments of CEO Jake Edwards and Sporting Director Mark Cartwright, the Club was delighted to welcome Domenic Notarfrancesco in the newly created role of Director of Global Brand earlier this season, with the former NBA, MLB and USL executive having an overview of Club marketing and retail.

Promoted from within after almost 20 years of service to the Club, former Director of Marketing and Communications David Threlfall-Sykes recently ascended into the position of Chief Operating Officer, working alongside our CEO on a wide range of projects whilst playing a vital role in the day-to-day running of the Club, also maintaining an overview of communications.

Joining the group are two new hires, with Ian Hopson becoming Chief Finance Officer and Paul Reeves taking the new role of Chief Revenue Officer.

Hopson arrives from Aston Villa, where he rose in their ranks from Financial Controller to Finance Director in 2016. A member of the Premier League side's executive committee, Ian will now lead Town’s finance department and look to take our existing staff in that area forward across all Club financial matters.

Our latest hire is Paul Reeves, who makes the short journey to Huddersfield from Sheffield United, where he was Head of Commercial for a decade. Town’s new Chief Revenue Officer, Reeves steered the Blades off field commercial development from League One to the Premier League and was also elected to the EFL Commercial Committee during his tenure, his new role with the Terriers has him overseeing our partnerships, ticketing, premium ticketing and lotteries revenue development.

Huddersfield Town CEO Jake Edwards commented:

“Establishing a modern, dynamic leadership at the Club was a need we identified early on, so it’s a real delight to see that desire realised ahead of the 2024/25 season.

“We have spoken in the past of Mark and Domenic’s credentials when they joined the Club, and we are similarly excited about Ian and Paul, who arrive at Town with a wealth of experience within the game that includes significant amounts of time within Premier League organisations that have targeted and achieved growth. I believe it speaks volumes of our intentions and ambition that they have both agreed to join following long service elsewhere, and that effort is all led by Chairman Kevin Nagle.

“We have also promoted David Threlfall-Sykes to COO, which is not only a recognition of his outstanding long service, but the ability and talent we inherited when joining the Club. An excellent Director of Marketing and Communications in the past, having a Town fan within the leadership team was important to us, and his work ethic and rise is an example to our employees at all levels who will now work with David each day as he helps the daily operations of the Club.

“On field success can only be built on off field stability, hard work and organisation. Our vision for Town is an upwardly mobile, progressive Club, and these hires and appointments take us a huge leap forward toward that end goal. It’s brilliant to have everyone finally in place, and I look forward to working closely with each member of the team from today onward.”
