We are delighted to share that Town skipper Jonathan Hogg has signed a new one year contract, keeping him with the Terriers until at least the summer of 2025!

With over 300 appearances to his name as a Terrier, the man affectionately known as ‘The General’ first joined the Club in 2013 from Watford and currently sits in 14th place in our all-time appearance list.

Now entering his eleventh consecutive season in West Yorkshire, the 35-year-old has cemented himself as a Town legend, playing a central role in our promotion and survival in the Premier League between 2016 and 2018 before winning our Hargreaves Memorial Player of the Year award in 2020/21.

His new deal keeps him in HD1 until at least summer 2025, taking him to the brink of 12 years of service to the Club.

Huddersfield Town Sporting Director Mark Cartwright commented:

“Jonathan is the embodiment of the spirit and professionalism we want to see across the squad, and his influence is priceless both on and off the field.

“A natural leader who is fiercely passionate about his Club, we are delighted to keep him with us and have him contribute to the vision and standards we want to set next season across not only the First Team, but Academy, too.”

Huddersfield Town Head Coach Michael Duff added:

“I’m extremely pleased to have Jonathan as part of our group next season, he’s been part of our plans in every conversation we’ve held since joining the Club.

“I was lucky enough to play at a good level until my late thirties, so know the impact and difference that can be made through experience and leadership. Both on and off the pitch, Hoggy still has a huge part to play.”

Huddersfield Town Captain Jonathan Hogg said:

I had no doubt at all in my mind about extending my contract here. I’ve said it before, but this is my Club and I couldn’t picture myself playing anywhere else now.

“Having been here over a decade, I know Town in good times and bad, and while the past couple of seasons haven’t gone to plan, I’m determined to play my part in helping to put that right in whatever way I can.

“Speaking to both Mark and Michael about their plans for the future, that’s something I want to be part of. Whenever I’m called on, I will continue to give everything I have for Huddersfield Town, just as I have since the day I arrived almost 11 years ago.”

Congratulations on the new deal, Hoggy!
