LOAN: MUSTAPHA OLAGUNJU JOINS CRAWLEY TOWN

Having recently returned to the Club following the conclusion of his loan with Ebbsfleet United in the National League, B Team defender Mustapha Olagunju will now join Crawley Town on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

Impressing with the National League side, Mustapha played nine times between October and January, completing 90 minutes on six occasions. Unfortunately missing six games halfway through that period with injury, Olagunju was straight back into the side once he had returned to full fitness.

The 22-year-olds second loan within the Football League, he had previously played in Sky Bet League Two in 2021 for Port Vale, going back to the division with Crawley Town at Broadfield Stadium for the rest of the campaign. Currently sat in 12th place within the league under Manager Scott Lindsay, the ‘Red Devils’ are just five points shy of the Play-Off Places.

Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Jon Worthington commented:

“We’re really pleased with how Mustapha has progressed this season after coming back from long-term injury to playing regularly again, and he gave a great account of himself with Ebbsfleet in the National League against some really tough opposition.

“There’s never been a question over his ability and potential, but it’s about him putting that together at the right level on a consistent basis now, and a return to Sky Bet League Two with Crawley Town presents him a really interesting challenge for the remainder of the season.

“He has to compete for a place in a side that are playing well and have high ambitions, and then try to keep it whilst turning out against equally motivated opposition. We’ve got high hopes for Mustapha, so will be monitoring how he progresses with a close eye.”

Keep up the good work, Muzzy!
