A second half to remember for Town under Caretaker Manager Jon Worthington saw Matty Pearson, Josh Koroma (2) and Sorba Thomas score four times to give the Terriers a huge home win over Sheffield Wednesday!
After a cagey first half from both sides that was still played at a fantastic pace, Town came out a different side after the break, with a flurry of goals sparked by Matty Pearson who stooped to head home from a Sorba Thomas corner.
Less than two minutes later Josh Koroma flew through thanks to a ball from Ben Wiles that undid the Wednesday defence, sidefooting home calmly to extend the celebrations around the ground at the John Smith's Stadium that had barely died down after the opener.
Creator turned scorer soon after with Sorba Thomas the next to find room in behind the Sheffield Wednesday defence, bearing down on goal from the right side, shooting across goal. Although the goalkeeper got a big hand to it, he couldn't deny the Welsh winger, who wheeled away to celebrate as it dropped into the back of the net.
Far from done, it was Koroma again who completed the scoring, rounding the goalkeeper outside of the box after a terrible backpass from the Wednesday defence, before beating a retreating defender in the six yard area, eventually smashing home despite the away side starting to get numbers back.
A ruthless period going forward for Town, the team then protected their commanding lead, seeing out the game and thier clean sheet to secure three hugely important home points.
