We are delighted to announce that Huddersfield Town has been nominated for two EFL Awards, in the categories of the EFL Fan Engagement Award and the EFL Diversity Award!

In recognition of the Club's efforts to encourage equality, diversity, and inclusivity within football, we're pleased to announce that Huddersfield Town have been nominated for two EFL Awards this year.

Shortlisted in the categories of the EFL Fan Engagement Award, sponsored by Wasserman Live, and the EFL Diversity Award, the two recognise Town's efforts to promote our Women's+ Network and to improve female fan engagement overall.

Since 2017, improving female experience has been a key strategic objective of the Club, and the 2023/24 season has seen an abundance of work towards this aim - including strategies such as the below.

Through initiatives such as our dedicated 'Women at the Game' fixture, in-person events, a new feedback programme that enables female supporters to help us improve our match day experience, and much more, Town have driven female attendances and created a welcoming atmosphere for all at the John Smith's Stadium.

Responding to supporter feedback, we are now a Breastfeeding Friendly venue and have a dedicated location within the Stadium should a private, warm space be required for feeding. Since 2017, we have also offered free period products across the venue, and we additionally offer free baby changing items in this location.

Alongside this, our Women's+ Network - a group dedicated to increasing female representation across our stakeholder groups, including both staff and supporters - has also significantly grown in members this season.

We became the first football club to become Menopause Friendly, and in 2023 we won the ‘Most Supportive Partner’ Award at the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards - an area in which we continue to lead within the football industry.

Gaining a better insight into female experiences with Huddersfield Town and identifying any barriers to engagement or attendance is key to making our ground accessible and inclusive for all.

Recognition of this work helps us celebrate the contribution that women make to our Club and to football as a whole.
