Prostate Cancer Awareness Month falls in September each year, and to help raise awareness Club legends Andy Booth and Neil Warnock joined Club Doctor Stephen Feldman at his new LivingCare practice in Sheffield!
Taking a look around Club Partner LivingCare’s new facility in Sheffield, the firm founded by Club Doctor Stephen Feldman utilise technology that can perform prostate scans in a non-invasive fashion, giving patients results inside half an hour.
Having taken part in the scan at LivingCare’s base in Leeds some weeks ago and received his own all clear, Warnock is in a high risk category at 74 years old, with Club Ambassador Andy Booth entering a similar part of his life as he approaches his 50th birthday this December.
LivingCare, who supporters may remember as a former training wear sponsor, was founded by Club Doctor Stephen Feldman in 2002. Having sadly lost his father to prostate cancer, the issue is especially close to his heart, underlining his desire to provide as many men as possible routine checks to ensure their health remains safe.
Statistics published by Prostate Cancer UK states that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with more than 52,000 men diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average – equating to 144 men every day. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer, which is more than 12,000 men every year. One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
