Huddersfield Town Manager Neil Warnock names side ahead of final match in charge
- Huddersfield Town side named to face Stoke City
- Manager Neil Warnock makes two changes to the side
- Yuta Nakayama and David Kasumu come in to start
Huddersfield Town Manager Neil Warnock has made two changes to the starting line-up for tonight’s Sky Bet Championship game against Stoke City; 7,45pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.
In his final game in charge of the side, Warnock has handed a first league start of the season to Japan international Yuta Nakayama. It’s the final landmark of the 26-year-old’s return from serious injury, as it’s his first Championship start since rupturing his Achilles in the home game against Sunderland in November 2022.
Warnock’s second change hands a first home start of the season to David Kasumu. It’s a second start of the season for Kas, who injured his ankle in the home pre-season friendly against Heerenveen.
Jonathan Hogg misses out tonight due to the illness that forced him off the pitch in Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Rotherham United, whilst Delano Burgzorg drops to the bench.
In Hogg’s absence, Michał Helik captains the side this evening.
There’s a welcome return to the match day squad for the first time this season for Tom Lees, who had been sidelined through the early part of the season with calf and back injuries.
Jack Rudoni is starting his 50th game for Huddersfield Town in all competitions.
Alongside Hogg (illness), Warnock is without Tom Edwards (ineligible to play against his parent club), Ollie Turton (knee), Danny Ward (Achilles), and Loick Ayina (heel).
