A pre-match gathering will be taking place on Saturday 16 September ahead of the Rotherham United game, for members of and allies to the LGBTQ+ community.
In June 2023 Huddersfield Town created its new ‘Proud About Town’ group for members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies who want to work with the Club to enhance our work on LGBTQ+ inclusion, which includes the match day experience.
We are delighted to be working with the Hive Café and Community Hub in Huddersfield to provide an alternative pre-match meeting place and our first gathering is taking place ahead of the home fixture versus Rotherham United on Saturday 16 September 2023.
Situated on John William Street, opposite St George’s Square, the Hive Café and Community Hub is working with other local organisations to support wellbeing activities, host meetings, and create safe spaces for our community.
Our HR Manager and Equality Lead Zoe Shackleton will be at the café from 1pm to meet everyone who would like to find out more about ‘Proud About Town’ and to receive a badge to confirm membership of and a commitment to the group.
All ‘Proud About Town’ members who wear their badge will be eligible to receive a 20% discount on drinks and cakes in the Hive Café and Community Hub. This offer extends to both match days and at other times.
