It was a richly deserved first win of the season for Town as they snatched all three points at the death against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns!

Starting brilliantly, Town set the tone for the game by playing on the front foot and taking the contest to the home side, looking bright in the final third and committing men forward whenever possible.

That start was rewarded by Delano Burgzorg, who chested the ball past a defender before lashing home with his right boot across the goalkeeper to open the scoring. His first Town goal on his first Town start, he was a handful for West Brom throughout with his skill and pace causing problems.

West Brom fought back into the game after the break through John Swift, but Town didn’t back down and continued to push. Eventually rewarded right at the death through Jack Rudoni – who had one chalked off early on for a dubious foul in the build up – the midfielder controlled a cross from Kian Harratt before swivelling and hitting with his left boot into the bottom corner.

A much deserved win after a performance full of desire and heart, it gives the side a big lift heading into the international break.
