Kicking off another campaign in the Premier League Cup, our opening group stage fixture ending in a score draw with Newcastle United at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Starting better, it was Town with the best – and only real – chance before half time, with Ugandan international forward Charles Ondo coming close to opening the scoring.

Even at the break, Town fell a goal behind after the break before forward Kyle Hudlin rifled home a wonderful strike to make it 1-1 and give the Terriers a share of the points.
Arguably the better side on the balance of play with the game there for the taking for Town, a point is a solid result having gone behind with lots of games to go before the end of the group stages.
There was a late sending off for the away side, with a second yellow produced that gave the Terriers the initiative in the final exchanges, but Newcastle United held on for a point.
