We are saddened to learn of the passing of Gordon Low, a defender for the Terriers between 1957 and 1961.

Gordon started 68 times for Town, scoring six goals as he operated from left half before departing for Bristol City on 16 March 1961.

Arriving at the Club from Aberdeen after being scouted by Archie Beatie, he had been playing for Powis YC before moving down to West Yorkshire in 1957. He was joined on the journey down to Huddersfield by his good friend and fellow Aberdonian Denis Law.

His debut for the Club then came on Christmas Day in 1957, playing in a 2-0 win over West Brom in the old Division 2 under then Manager Bill Shankley.

Also turning out for Eddie Boot in his time in blue and white, his career would take him to Stockport County, Crewe Alexandra and Selby Town after leaving Bristol City, eventually returning to the Terriers for some years as youth team coach after hanging up his boots.

Gordon passed away on Monday 16 October 2023 aged 83. His family and loved ones are in the thoughts of all at Huddersfield Town at this sad time.

Once a Terrier, always a Terrier.
