Michelle McQueen is Huddersfield Town’s Disability Liaison Officer (DLO) – make sure you know who she is and what she does in case she can help you.
Having worked in the Town Ticket Office for 11 years prior to this, Michelle McQueen was appointed as our DLO in the 2022/23 season.
McQueen has helped many disabled supporters in the past with ticket enquiries and has continued to build relationships over the last season with both new and existing disabled supporters in her new role.
In 2019, Michelle helped launch the Hidden Disability scheme in order to help those with disabilities easily identify themselves to Club and Stadium staff should they need assistance, without being required to explain their disability – this was to enable fans to be supported in the appropriate way.
Last season, we introduced our Terriers Together Inclusion Room in order to provide a safe space so that different groups of supporters can attend home fixtures and be confident that their individual needs will be catered for. This room proved to be incredibly successful over it’s debut season – allowing different fans a safe space to watch the game.
Michelle McQueen, our Disability Liaison Officer, commented on her role:
“I am now settled in my role as Disability Liaison Officer at Town and I’m honoured that I get to continue building new relationships with our disabled supporters as well as strengthening the ones I already had in my previous role in the Ticket Office.
“We want everyone to feel welcome, which is why we have facilities such as the Inclusion Room and the Hidden Disability scheme as this allows supporters to enjoy the game without feeling isolated and uncomfortable.
“There is still plenty to do and I’m excited for the future!”
