Opened in September 2022, our Terriers Together Inclusion Room, sponsored by Terriers Together Patrons Thornhill Dental, continues to give supporters access to the John Smith’s Stadium that may have previously been unable to attend.

A safe space and sensory room, it was completely retrofitted to give supporters who may feel uncomfortable within the stands a dedicated area from which they can watch Town at home, with countless success stories to tell since its opening!

Booking is overseen by our Disability Liaison Officer Michelle McQueen, with our Head of Supporter Experience Robyn Kennerdale central to the creation and opening of the room.

Upon the unveiling of the space last year, Robyn said:

“The idea behind the Inclusion Room was to try and create a safe and controlled environment for people with a wide range of different needs to be able to enjoy a match; some who may not otherwise have been able to have this experience in another area of the Stadium.

“Our ‘Terriers Together’ campaign encapsulates all our equality-related work and our commitment to being an inclusive Club, and it is our hope is that the Inclusion Room can be used by people with needs relating to disability, people who have long-term or limiting health conditions, people in end-of-life care and so on.

“It has been absolutely wonderful to welcome guests into the room already and to hear the feedback from those whom it has helped.”

Having now been open for over a year, attendees have been of all ages, needs and group sizes, with families, businesses and individuals equally welcome. Helping those who may need a safe space to breastfeed, suffer from Autism or other sensory conditions and many more besides, it has been incredible to see Terriers from all walks of life able to attend games.

One recent attendee, Sycamore Park Care Home - who are pictured above - were treated to a tour from Club Ambassador Andy Booth as well as watching our home win against Queens Park Rangers.

Getting back in contact with the Club following their visit, the group said:

“Wow! Such a magical day we had. Another huge thank you from the bottom of my heart!

“Seeing my residents smile means everything to me and thats what we had today - lots of smiles!”
