We are pleased to announce that First Bus has become an Associate Partner, helping to support the greener goals of the Club and the bus operator!
The agreement sees the development of sustainable long-term initiatives aimed at improving supporters’ experience around match day, with the services First Bus provides in the town and wider region.
The transport operator, with its Huddersfield depot on Old Fieldhouse Lane, will remain an official Club Partner for the 2023/24 season, taking up various branding opportunities inside the John Smith’s Stadium.
Lucy Mottram, Marketing Manager for First Bus in West Yorkshire, said:
“This cements our already strong links with the club, and we’re delighted to promote its continued development in the league as well as supporting greener options for fan travel.
“First Bus has a clear strategy to reduce emissions and create cleaner air in towns and cities.
“This is being achieved locally with investment of £1.68m last year to introduce 10 new buses in Huddersfield, operating to the best ultra-low emissions standards and the retrofit of technology to the exhaust systems of the existing fleet to match this performance.”
“This partnership builds on our shared goal of helping to reduce the carbon footprint of football fans.
“We’re ready to do more to connect local people to the club they love and will continue to be at the heart of the match day experience to help fans see the players in action.
“Taking the bus is not only a more sustainable way to travel it also helps to reduce congestion, which is a benefit to all road users.”
Daniel McGeachie, Head of Partnerships and Business Development at Huddersfield Town commented:
“We’re pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with First Bus.
“As a Club we fully support their initiatives to lower emissions and encouraging bus travel amongst our fans, both on match day and beyond is a great way for us to support”.
