With Mental Health Awareness Week commencing on Monday 15 May, we want to encourage supporters to speak out about any Mental Health problems.

The theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2023 is anxiety – read more about that HERE – which is one of the most common mental health problems that people face. Many things can contribute to anxiety and although it is deemed as a normal emotion it can often easily escalate and get out of control.

It is important that we continue to speak about our mental health, as there is as a chance either you or somebody you know will struggle with mental health related problems at some point during your life.

The aims of Mental Health Awareness Week 2023 is to increase people's awareness and understanding of anxiety by providing information on the things that can help prevent it from becoming a problem as well as overcoming the stigma that surrounds the phrase ‘Mental Health’.

The most important thing we can do is promote speaking up and speaking out, as that will be our most powerful tool to reduce the often-horrific statistics relating to mental health and raise more awareness – remember that it’s okay to talk, and it’s always helpful to make yourself available to listen.
