Women’s+ Network upcoming meeting announced

- Meeting on Tuesday 30 May, 6pm
- Clare Taylor MBE will attend as special guest
- Meeting open to everyone

Huddersfield Town’s Women’s+ Network hold their next meeting at the end of May, with guest speaker Clare Taylor MBE.

The Women’s+ Network is comprised of a diverse group of people whose original aim was to undertake research to gain insights into female experiences with Huddersfield Town Football Club.

Since its launch in March 2022, the network’s focus and purpose have evolved, and while there are ongoing discussions about how to enhance female inclusion and engagement with HTAFC, the network also provides opportunities for social interaction, meeting new people, and learning about and from other people’s experiences.

Our next HTAFC Women’s+ Network meeting is taking place on Tuesday 30 May 2023 at the Legends Bar and Café, next to the John Smith’s Stadium, and will start at 6pm.

Talking about her career in sport, both football and cricket, we are delighted to confirm that Clare Taylor MBE will be joining us as guest speaker for the meeting and will be available to answer any questions. Clare will be talking about her football career, playing for England and Liverpool Ladies, as well as her cricket career playing for Yorkshire and England.

Commenting on being guest speaker, Clare said:

“I’ll be talking about playing football and cricket in the “non-professional” era and looking at how far both women’s sports have come in a short space of time.

“I’m also happy to answer any burning questions … if I can!”

Georgia Cook will also be on hand at the event to give an insight into her role as Huddersfield Town’s Her Game Too Ambassador and will answer any questions you have for her.

We hope this event will be of interest and value to a wide group of people, irrespective of gender or any other characteristic.

The meeting is open to all and is not exclusive to Huddersfield Town supporters. It is also FREE to attend but there will be a collection for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance should anyone wish to make a donation.

Our HR Manager and Equality Leader, Zoe Shackleton, commented:

“Our HTAFC Women’s+ Network is proving to be a valuable addition to the groups and networks that we facilitate.

“It is important to emphasise that our Women’s+ Network is not just for women – it is for anyone, including allies and advocates for female inclusion and all other forms of inclusion.

“We are grateful to Clare Taylor and Georgia Cook for giving up their time to support our event and we hope to see many people there.”

We're happy for you to turn up on the night but if anyone wants to register their attendance please email Zoe.Shackleton@htafc.com.
