With the 2023 Maurice Revello Tournament pending, Nicholas Bilokapic has received an international call-up to the Australia U23 men’s national team, with the tournament playing a vital role in Australia’s qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic games.
Bilokapic will be joining Trevor Brian Morgan’s 24 man squad for the upcoming 2023 Maurice Revello Tournament in France having earned his place after enjoying a good spell with Town’s First Team this season, making his Sky Bet Championship debut and getting an assist in his home debut against Birmingham City.
The 20-year-old will attend the Pre-Tournament from Thursday 25 May until Thursday 1 June in Gavirate, Italy, before heading to Alix-en Provence, France, in preparation for a group stage match against Qatar on Tuesday 6 June.
Group stage key dates:
Tuesday 6 June 2023 - Australia vs Qatar
Friday 9 June 2023 - Australia vs Togo
Monday 12 June 2023 - Australia vs Mexico
Should they qualify, the semi finals take place on Friday 16 June 2023, with the final following shortly after on Sunday 18 June.
The Maurice Revello Tournament is an annual, international, age-restricted football tournament. France U20’s gained a 2-1 victory against Venezuela U23s in the 2022 Final.
The tournament is a key component of the Australia U23s National Team’s qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic games. The qualification has two phases, which includes the AFC Asian Cup 2024 Qualifiers and the AFC Asian Cup 2024.
