Ahead of our Sky Bet Championship fixture with West Brom on Saturday 11 March, Manager Neil Warnock updated the press before another big game.

Discussing the latest team news, his feelings after our draw with Bristol City on Tuesday night and the players who impressed him during the game, the Manager said:

“Danny (Ward) is black and blue at the minute! He took a battering, really – I’m hoping he’ll be back on the grass tomorrow but he is really sore today.

“We don’t have any other fresh injury concerns. Scott High has a broken hand, so that’s a small issue.

“Before Tuesday, we hadn’t had a clean sheet since before Christmas, the back four and our ‘keeper deserved it.

“I think the last 30 minutes against Bristol we created about as well as we have in the time I’ve been here.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have Danny Ward twice before, in two successful eras. It’s difficult sometimes when you play on your own up top, so we have been trying to get someone up with him.

“I do think Waghorn did well when he came on too.

“I think Jack Rudoni was excellent too, he was pressuring the centre halves and didn’t lose his own man either. All he needs is a goal, once one goes in I think he might get a flurry to be honest.

“I was pleased with Ruffels and Jackson too, considering they haven’t played for a while – Josh Koroma also did well.”

Going on to speak our next Sky Bet Championship opponents, West Brom, Warnock said:

“It’s not just us under pressure for a result, West Brom need the result so they can finish in the Play-Offs – they has such a fabulous squad, it’s top three in the league.

“We’ll be focussed on trying to play our game, to make our own opportunities and see what their weaknesses are – that’s what they will be doing this week on us too,

“We’ve got to play for the shirt and our fans that are travelling down – we need to play with pride.

“It’s a wonderful Club and we’ve got a lot to play for, so we’ll give it absolutely everything.”
