Ahead of our Sky Bet Championship fixture with Norwich City on Wednesday 15 March, Manager Neil Warnock updated the press before another big game.

Discussing the latest team news, our recent result against West Brom last weekend and the impact of the fans, the Manager said:

“We’re hopeful that Wardy will recover, he’s still not right but he’s got another 24 hours. He’s played for me twice before and he’s always been an example to everybody, a really good professional – he’s a great lad to have around.

“We’ve got a good mix of young lads and experienced, so it’s good to have the older ones to lean on.

“Scott High and Duane Holmes are on the grass, but the medical department are worried about Scott’s hand and we don’t want to rush Duane back before he is ready either.

“Anthony Knockaert will be missing again tomorrow, too.

“It would have been two clean sheets on the run if it wasn’t for that penalty. West Brom didn’t have another shot on target from inside the box and we had the best chances.

“I thought we were really comfortable on the ball and it looked more like my team, it was a real battle.

“The fans contributed to our performance against Bristol City, the second half especially – they were right behind us and I thought we were well on top, so it’s good to be back home tomorrow.

“The fans want to see the players doing the best they can, so I’m making sure that the players are giving everything they can.

“Fans can keep their hands warm by coming down, getting behind us and clapping!”

Looking ahead to our next Sky Bet Championship opponents, Norwich City, Warnock said:

“We’ve got to make sure that Norwich know we’ve been in the game, that’s all I can ask.

“We’ll prepare correctly and make it hard for them, that’s what our focus will be on, to cause them problems of our own too.

“We’ll do everything we can to get points from every game coming up.

“It’s not easy, we’ve lost games we should have, but we have to try and look on the bright side and that’s all we can do to give us hope – and there is hope.”
