Young Terriers help Huddersfield Town’s Foundation Show Racism the Red Card
- Town’s Foundation held an anti-racism event at the John Smith’s Stadium
- Two local schools attendance and partook in workshops
- Tom Iorpenda, Cian Philpott, and Fope Deru joined a star-studded panel for a Q&A session
B Team players Tom Iorpenda, Cian Philpott, and Fope Deru joined former Town forward Fraizer Campbell and former professionals Chris Kamara MBE and John Beresford MBE for a Show Racism the Red Card event in partnership with the Huddersfield Town Foundation.
The Young Terriers took part in a question-and-answer session about the effects of racism and that everyone can stand up and speak out against it, with them speaking confidently and voluntarily picking up the microphone to help inspire the children.
The schools in attendance – Field Lane Junior Infant and Nursery, Batley, and Moldgreen Community Primary, Huddersfield – are part of the Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars programme which uses the power of the Premier League brand and football to engage and support pupils in schools.
They were involved in a carousel of workshops to help the pupils spot the signs of stereotyping and how to safely challenge racist incidents.
