LOAN: FOUR YOUNG TERRIERS EXPERIENCE FIRST TEAM FOOTBALL

20 March 2023

Four players across the Huddersfield Town B Team out on loan

- Young Terriers gaining valuable senior experience
- Players from our B Team out on loan
- Town currently have 17 players out on loan

Over the week, four more of our Young Terriers have gone out on loan to gain experience of First Team Football.

Midfielder Tom Iorpenda has joined Hyde United in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, following in the footsteps of goalkeeper Giosue Bellagambi and midfielder Sonny Whittingham. Both excelled on the other side of the Pennines as Bellagambi kept seven clean sheets in 12 appearances and Whittingham scored one goal in 10 appearances. On loan until 1 May, 17-year-old Iorpenda will be able to test himself at a new level away from the B Team, making his debut from the start on Saturday 18 Match vs South Shields.

In a double-deal, both Conor Falls and Michael Stone from our B Team have signed on loan for Liversedge FC. Midfielder Stone, 18, and Northern Ireland U19s international Falls, 19, will experience first team football in the Northern Premier League and will gain better understanding of a senior environment, with Stone making his debut off the bench on Saturday 18 March whilst Falls wasn't included before international duty.

Another member of our B Team midfield, Myles Bright, has joined Hemel Hempstead Town on loan on Tuesday 14 March for the remainder of the 2022/23 season. The 20-year-old went straight into the team for the Tudors’ game against Braintree Town on Tuesday night as a substitute, coming on in the 75th minute to see the game out for a 1-1 draw in the National League South.

Loan Manager David Fox commented:

“It’s great to see more of our younger players heading out on loan and getting a proper taste of First Team football within a senior environment – they gain a different kind of experience to what they get within the Academy, which is why we look to do these deals to maximise development.

“Tom Iorpenda joins Hyde United who we know very well after Gio and Sonny’s spell there, and we know Tom will gain invaluable experience while playing at a really high, competitive level. Conor and Michael will also play at a higher level within a senior team, which will help their progression.

“It’s pleasing to see Myles go on loan and get straight in the side, which puts him in good stead for the rest of the season.

“The reputation of our Academy and the talent present is constantly growing, and these deals further underline that fact.”
