Having both played huge role in a brilliant performance to take all three points home from The Den, Tom Lees and Danny Ward spoke to HTTV at full-time to share their thoughts.
Having won the game for Town in the second half after coming on late on in the first period after an injury to Martyn Waghorn, striker Danny Ward said:
“I’m obviously delighted to finally be back on the scoresheet, but most of all delighted to get the three points.
“The last 20 minutes was carnage, but showed the spirit and togetherness of the team to put their bodies on the line and make sure that Millwall didn’t get an equaliser.”
Summing up the defensive side of the game after another assured performance at the back, Lees added:
“Everybody to a man did their job.
“Obviously the way we play now puts a lot of responsibility on each man sticking with their man and getting the better of their duel, and I think all over the pitch people did that.”
